A shirred dress made from woven fabric and common sewing supplies. The shirring creates a fitted but textured effect over the body, highlighting your curves. The shirring acts as gathering for the skirt and is grown onto the rest of the dress pattern, reducing the number of seams.

It features a boat neck as well as being sleeveless.

Sewing level

Level: Confident beginner - Intermediate

The steps in this tutorial are quite simple, however, it can be quite a lengthy project and requires a good level of accuracy in some parts. It is recommended that you have completed at least 3 clothing projects from scratch prior to attempting.

Time required

0.5-1 days depending on skill level.

5-8 hours on shirring alone, ~2hrs for cutting and sewing up final dress.
